7 Matte Lip Shades You NEED this Fall

It’s finally that time of year again…

The season of crisp air, pumpkin patch dates, chunky sweaters, football games, pumpkin spice everything, gorgeous autumn colors.  Nothing screams fall more than a matte lip and a PSL, am I right?

Channel all your spooky-season feels with these 7 matte lips shades that are sure to get you thrilled for fall.

Autumn is all about warm and neutral hues.  Terracotta is a classic color that is bound to go with every outfit and skin tone.  Think latte but in a lipstick!

Try… Maybelline’s Super Stay Matte Ink in Caramel Collector.  I originally wrote about this lipstick in my Fall Favorites post last year.  It’s so good that it has made the cut 2 years in a row!  I promise you that once it's on, it WILL NOT budge at all.

Go on and sip your PSL, sis.  This lip stain has you covered!

If you're feeling a bit playful this fall, definitely pick up a plum shade!  Pair it with a simple neutral eye and a mauve blush for a perfect berry-picking look.

Try… Smashbox’s Always On Cream to Matte Lipstick in Let’s Goji.  Just like the name says, this lipstick goes on smooth and creamy, and dries down to a transfer-resistant matte.

I don't know about you, but I’ve been loving earthy neutrals this season.  They are great for layering and pairing with literally anything.  That being said, why not add a tan lip?  To balance out your look, add a pop of color or bold liner to the eyes.

Try… MAC’s Matte Lipstick in Act Natural.  This light nude shade has just the right amount of warmth thanks to its gold undertones.

P.S. -- if you've never tried a MAC lipstick, this is the one to try!  It did kind of, you know, make them famous and all!

How can you go wrong with a classic red?  Add a moody autumn twist to your regular red lip and pick up a darker shade instead.  Plus, deep red would make a riveting addition to that Halloween makeup look you have saved on Pinterest!

Try… the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Madrid.  It’s insanely pigmented and lightweight formula won’t dry out your lips as it flattens down to a velvety matte.

Can we talk about how affordable these are?  Pick up one in each shade and a few for your GFs while stocking up this fall!

Okay -- first off -- how stunning is this color?   Muted tones are so in this season and this lavender color is a faultless way to get with the trend.

Try… Rare Beauty’s Lip Souffle Matte Cream Lipstick in Daring.  Rare Beauty was founded by the queen Selena Gomez herself earlier this month and has been doing amazing.  Her featherlight non-caking formula contains Vitamin E to keep your lips soft all day through.

Ah, here I go again with my lovely neutrals.  Brown is excellent if you want to create an edgy makeup look without committing to a black lip.  Not to mention how glorious brown shades look on our deep skinned ladies!  If brown is too dark for you, lighten it up by adding your favorite pink lip product over top.

Try… NARS’ Powermatte Lip Pigment in Somebody To Love.  This creamy blend of rose and chestnut shades creates a perfectly warm fall color.  Powermatte is a lip stain, meaning it will not budge, smear, or smudge.

Last but not least, good ol’ pink.  A pale pink lip will never go out of style.  It is truly a timeless shade that matches any outfit, occasion, or makeup look.   So… make sure you're stocked up this fall!

Try… the Kylie Cosmetics Matte Lip Kit in Koko K -- another great classic.  Kylie is infamously known for her lip kits.  If you don't have one already, this is a sign to pick one up now!  Each kit comes with both a lip liner and lipstick.  Fill in your lips, throw on a beautiful pink shade and ta-da, you're ready for date night at the pumpkin patch!
