What I Got for Christmas 2020: Beauty Edition

Disclaimer:  I have absolutely no intention for this post to come off as boastful or ungrateful.  I am beyond blessed to have spent this holiday season with family and those I love.  Personally, I find seeing what others received really interesting.  I hope I can bring a little of that same joy to you today.

This holiday season looked a little different for all of us.  No trip to Grandma's house, no office holiday party, and no New Year's Eve get together.  Despite this year being a little odd, to say the least, there's one thing you can always count on -- ‘What I got for Christmas’ hauls.

Now I may be a week late, but late is better than never, right? So, without further ado, let's jump right into my beauty edition Christmas goodies.

ColourPop Tinted Moisturizer

1. ColourPop Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Acid Tinted Moisturizer

I’ve had my eye on this beauty for a few months and now I finally get to try it!  This spring, I fell in love with ColourPop’s Hyaluronic Concealer thanks to its super velvety formula and coverage. (Not going to lie, sometimes I’d wear it all over like foundation, oops!). I tend to stick to the “no makeup” makeup looks, so this sheer tinted moisturizer is perfect for me!  I think it’s safe to say that I left my concealer-as-foundation wearing days in 2020!

***Pro-Tip:  I am pretty fair toned with very pink undertones.  I got the shade Light 8N and it is a bit on the pale side for my complexion.  The formula is sheer but it is buildable if you want a little more coverage.

Lash Snack Mascara

2. Lash Snack Mascara

This is arguably one of my favorite things I got for Christmas!  I last talked about this mascara in my 7 Beauty Products That are Coming With Me to 2021 post after stealing it from my mom’s makeup drawer.  I instantly fell in love and was marveling at how my lashes literally looked like falsies!  Needless to say, I was stoked when I unwrapped this one.

3. Sephora Favorites Lashstash Mascara Wardrobe

Sephora LashStack Mascara

I'm going to let you in on a little secret -- I've been using the same mascara for over a year!  Yikes!  Lucky for me, Santa hooked me up good this year with all the mascara that I could ever dream of.  This set from Sephora comes with seven best selling mascaras, a lash extension serum, a mascara primer, and a set of falsies!  What else could a girl need?  Here’s a rundown on each…

Pat McGrath Labs FetishEyes Masara:  This full size mascara comes with a standard bristle wand and tuns for $30.  I found it’s formula a bit dry but it got the job done.

Urban Decay Lash Freak:  This formula is much creamier and comes with a rubber bristle wand.  I also found that the pigment wasn't as dark on my lashes.

Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara:  This mini also came with a rubber bristle wand, but the bristles were much shorter than Urban Decay’s.  I loved the formula at first, but after a few swipes, my lashes began to clump together.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Masacara:  This wand is great for separating the lashes while applying.  This is definitely one of my faves.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Brag Mascara: I’m not going to lie, this mascara is really similar to the Too Faced mascara!  It has a very similar brush and the formulas look very interchangeable on my lashes.

ILIA Limit Lash Mascara:  The ILIA mascara comes with a rubber wand and very tiny bristles.  Personally this brush type is my favorite, as the bristles are spread out and can coat every lash.  As for the formula, I love the jet black color, but it does have a faint chemical smell.

Blinc Mascara Amplified:  This full size mascara sells for $26.00 and has a great volumizing formula.

Lancome Cils Booster:  All I can say is wow!  This primer goes on white and adds a noticeable thickness to the lashes.  I did notice that dryer formulas took more to cover up the white, but the velverty formulas covered it like a charm.

GrandeLash-MD Lash Enhancing Serum:  This serum is enriched with L-Proline and Hyaluronic Acid for healthy and strong lashes.

Velour Effortless Lashes:  These falsies from Velour claim to need no trimming and last up to 20 uses!

Jade Roller

4. Mount Lai Jade Roller

This (literal) gem has made its way into my everyday skincare routine.  It is so soothing on the skin and is great for increasing blood flow.  I love using it with my favorite serums and moisturizers for glowing and healthy skin!

$34.00

Hempz Lotion

5. Hempz Sweet Pineapple & Honey Melon Moisturizer

This is one of those things that I’ve always wanted but didn’t feel the need to buy for myself.  It’s super sweet scent is insanely soothing on the skin. I can’t wait to use this one all summer long!

$23.00

Face Razors

6. Face Razors

These dermaplaning razors are another thing that I just never got around to purchasing myself.  I love the benefits of dermaplaning (I wrote about them in this post) but I’ve never got to truly try it myself! I can safely say that, just like anticipated, I love it! These razors left my skin SO soft and bright.

p.s. I couldn’t find these exact ones so I linked a pack from Kitsch.

7. Heat Resistant Mat

Heat Resistant Mat

So… this gift may have been on my list due to my curling iron burning my vanity top once or twice. Or three times.  Anyways, it keeps my 425° hot tools (yes, I know that’s high; I use heat protectant) off of my counter! The mat does get a little warm on the surface but it claims to not melt.

Claw Clips

8. Large Claw Clips

Ok I’m obsessed with these. I have worn a different claw clip hairstyle everyday since opening them!  This 90’s trend came back into style a couple months ago and I finally see why.  They provide a super cute and natural look in literal seconds.

$14.28

Booster Shots

9. Function of Beauty Deep Condition Booster Shots

Especially during the winter months, my hair gets unusually dry.  I also started toning my hair in the past few months so I really need all the moisture and nutrients that I can get.  These booster shots are designed to go straight into your conditioner bottle for weeks of enhanced moisture.

$2.99

Microfiber Hair Towel

10.  Microfiber Hair Towel

Once again with the healthy hair thing, this wrap is perfect.  The microfiber material is supposed to be gentler on your hair and not cause as much frizziness as a regular towel.  I’m not 100% convinced that this actually works but, hey, it looks cute and it does the trick to dry my hair!

p.s. I couldn’t find this exact one so I linked a similar one from Aquis.

$30.00
